PHI 4, BUF 3, 10/25/2016

The Flyers rallied from a 3-0 deficit to defeat the Buffalo Sabres in a shootout. Statistically, this was one of their best games of the season, which is expected since they spent most of it playing from behind. That said, they got another great performance out of the Konecny-Couturier-Voracek line until they were broken up sometime in the third period. Couturier was replaced by Claude Giroux and he ended up having one of his best games of the year, playing a big role in the Flyers game-tying goal late in the third period.

There’s some things to be concerned with, though. They fell behind 3-0 to a Sabres team that’s missing two of their best forwards and their penalty kill got lit up yet again. Buffalo also set the table for this comeback, sitting on their lead for most of the third period and getting into penalty trouble late in the game. Can’t fault the Flyers for taking advantage of that, though as they had one of their more impressive offensive showings in this young season.
